Having previously stayed in Umbria and Tuscany, we were blissfully unaware of the beautiful Sabina hills just an hour from Rome. Down the bumpy, unobtrusive track, we arrived at La Meridiana sitting above a beautiful natural garden and ancient Olive grove leading down to a wonderful swimming pool. The highlights for us were the stylish interior design of the house with its stunning staircase and wall fresco and, secondly Giovanna’s warm hospitality and excellent cooking. Altogether a great family holiday. Grazie molto!

A wonderful week at La Meridiana, serenaded by the cuckoos, nightingales, and the owls and even (nearly) had a meeting with a wild boar! Relaxing at the house, games of tennis, trip to Rome, Villa d’Este made this week a cultural tonic for the soul. Giovanna looked after us beautifully and we felt very indulgent by her brilliant cooking. Fino alla prossima volta.
